Saunders, Rebecca, 1967-

Rebecca Saunders was born in London in 1967 and studied music at the University of Edinburgh, graduating in 1991.  She continued her studies in composition with Wolfgang Rihm at Karlsruhe Music College, Germany before returning the Faculty of Music at Edinburgh to pursue a PhD in composition under the supervision of Nigel Osborne. She received Honorary Degrees from the Universities of Huddersfield in 2018 and Edinburgh in 2023.  Rebecca is a member of the Academies of Arts in Berlin, Dresden and Munich.
