Peterson, Jan

Dr Jan Peterson's first work for solo organ 'Drone, Hymn and Complement' was commissisoned by the Edinburgh Organ Week committee with subsidy from the Scottish Arts Council and first performed by Philip Sawyer at the 1986 Edinburgh Organ Week.  She had just completed a year of study with Kenneth Leighton at the University of Edinburgh having been awarded a Rotary Scholarship to enable her to take a year out from the University of Texas in Austin where she subsequently completed her doctorate in composition.
