Orgas, Annibale, c.1585-1629

Orgas was an Italian composer.  He began his musical training as a boy soprano at the German College in Rome, a seminary for German, Austrian and Hungarian students and one of the major Roman centres for music making of the period.  From 1607-1610 he trained as a deacon at the Seminario Romano before returning to the College as maestro di cappella and in 1619 left Italy to take up the position of maestro di cappella at Wawel Cathedral in Kraków.
