Malipiero, Gian Francesco, 1882-1973

Italian composer, musicologist, music teacher and editor; born in Venice.  He studied in Vienna, Bologna, Paris and Berlin before returning to Venice to take up a position as principal of the local Conservatory, where he taught Luigi Nono and edited the first modern edition of the works of Monteverdi.
