Aram Khachaturian was an Armenian composer who continued the nationalist tradition of the St. Petersburg school, and is known principally for his Piano Concerto and the ballets Gayaneh and Spartacus. Khachaturian was born to an Armenian family in Tbilisi, Georgia.
