Hoffman, Richard, 1831-1909

Pianist and composer Richard Hoffman was born in England where he studied with Leopold de Meyer, Moscheles and Arthur Rubenstein.  At the age of 16 he travelled to the United States and made his New York debut.  He often accompanied Jenny Lind on her American tours and was a friend of Louis Gottschalk.
