Scottish-American pianist and composer, b. Glasgow; d. New York City
Born March 1886 in Kinning Park, Glasgow the son of a boot and shoe manufacturer and salesman.
Brother of Catherine (Kate) Friskin who studied music at Northlands with Sophie Weisse.
James Friskin studied in London at the Royal College of Music.
Emigrated to the USA in 1914 where he became Professor of Pianoforte at the Institute of Musical At, New York.
