Clifton, Arthur 1784-1832

Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Arthur Clifton (born Philip Antony Corri) was the son of Italian composer Domenico Corri.  He changed his name on his arrival in America in 1814.  Settling in Baltimore he was active in the musical life of that city for 20 years as a singer, pianist, organist/choir master and a director of theatre music.
